Predominantly focussed on Steve’s portraits from the late 90’s and early 2000’s whilst living and working in Hollywood, ’SHOOTING STARS PAYS THE RENT’ brings together a diverse and delicious mix of Rappers, Rock ’n’ Rollers, Movie Stars and Trailblazers, iconic images that will be on display side by side for the very first time.

Produced and curated by Kathy Speirs, ’SHOOTING STARS PAYS THE RENT’ begins an Artist In Residency at The Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel, Edinburgh from 18th Aug - 19th Nov, before continuing its journey across the UK.

The show features such A-Listers as Ray Liotta, Eminem, Alanis Morissette, Lennox Lewis, Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne, Mickey Rourke, JK Rowling and Michael Stipe. All prints are limited edition, each hand printed in the darkroom by the most respected master printers in the business. They include a stunning collection of gelatin silver prints made from the original negatives by world renowned black & white specialist Robin Bell. All are available for purchase, framed or print only.

teve’s passion for film and photography finds its current expression here as he takes a deep dive into his extensive archive. Many of the negatives have been buried away in well travelled boxes for 15, 20, 25 years and now find an important new and lease of life, in this exclusive must-see retrospective.
